What if, instead of reaching for the coffee maker this morning, you whisked a bowl of matcha? That one small shift in your daily ritual can change the entire tone of your day. Aka Fuji was made to be that shift.
Honyama in Shizuoka is a steep, mountain-valley tea region where dramatic temperature swings between day and night coax deep flavor into every leaf. Aka Fuji draws on that terroir — a beautifully balanced cup where natural sweetness and a clean, brisk astringency exist in perfect harmony. Light and smooth as usucha, rich and grounding as koicha. Versatile enough to become whatever your morning needs.
No special equipment. No complicated technique. Just add hot water, whisk, and drink. Keep it on your kitchen counter, beside your desk, wherever your mornings begin. A new ritual is waiting.

How to Store Your Matcha (Storage Instructions)
To preserve its delicate aroma, vibrant green color, and rich umami, proper storage is essential:
- Before Opening: Store in a cool, dark place, or keep sealed in the refrigerator. If refrigerated, allow the can to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.
- After Opening: Seal tightly after each use and store in a cool, dry, and dark place (or keep in the refrigerator, away from strong odors).
- Best Enjoyed: For the finest taste and peak freshness, consume within 1 to 2 months after opening.

A grassier version of matcha with a bolder taste and tastes very smooth, recommended for those who prefer a stronger matcha flavour
Aka Fuji is very balanced, with the following tasting notes standing out the most to me: earthy, umami, grassy. That said, this matcha also has a natural sweetness and light astringency to it. I honestly didn’t need to add sweetener to get it to my liking! It’s a medium-bodied powder with a vibrant green colour, which made it really stand out in a latte. I tried this powder as a latte using the following ratio:
* 4g Aka Fuji
* 40ml water
* 120g oat milk
* Ice
Really happy with this matcha!
I’ve tried a few different brands before, and this one is definitely one of my favorites. The powder is very fine and has a beautiful green color, so it mixes really well without leaving any lumps. The flavor is smooth and fresh, with a nice natural sweetness and very little bitterness. I’ve been having a cup in the morning and really enjoy how light and refreshing it feels. The tin is also a nice touch and makes it easy to keep the matcha fresh.
I’ll definitely be ordering this again!
The aroma was honestly the first thing that caught my attention—so fresh, sweet, and inviting! The vibrant color is absolutely gorgeous, and you can tell right away that this is a beautiful matcha. The flavor was just as lovely, with a really enjoyable depth that makes it such an easy matcha to reach for. Definitely one I’d recommend trying! I’m so excited to add this to my matcha powder rotation and keep reaching for it. Sending lots of love from Canada!! 🤭⭐️🍁
